Adama + Pablo Golden Light Maternity Shoot
about the session
Say hello to Adama and Pablo, one of my favorite couples I have had the privilege of meeting. We previously met when I photographed their friend’s wedding here. They are some of the kindest people. They’re incredibly supportive of each other, they work hard, laugh a lot, and prioritize their family above all else. They’re so fun and yet so put together, which makes them a totally ideal couple to work with.
I’d initially reached out to them to model for me so I could use their photos in my Client Style Guide. But as the summer of 2020 became more and more socially intense, I wanted to somehow do what I could within my own sphere to encourage racial equity.
So what could I do? I felt like I could show more couples and families of diverse racial backgrounds laughing, loving, and putting in all they could to have a happy and successful family. What better people to have as an example of that than Adama and Pablo?
The location took place at Mehraban Wetlands Park in Draper, Utah. This is my go-to location when I want to switch up that famous Utah landscape. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the mountains, and miss them dearly now that I am a Maryland-based photographer. But there’s something so magical about gold light streaming through all those trees that gets me every time.
The light was incredible for our shoot. It was that dewy, gorgeous gold, which perfectly complimented this couple that is pure gold. They laughed easily, loved each other so much, and looked absolutely incredible. When the light showed through the lace overlay in Adama’s stunning maternity dress, it was sheer magic.
These two were perfect both as clients and as an example for my style guide. Adama looked stunning in her white dress that perfectly showcased her pregnancy belly. Pablo looked so suave with his dress pants, button-up, and nice shoes. Adama’s lace dress was amazing and gave so much texture without stealing the show away from Adama herself.
If anyone wants to know how they should dress for their shoot, check out these two. Thank you so much to this beautiful couple for helping me do my small part to fill the world with a little more acceptance + love.

After shooting this couple’s beautiful wedding, I knew I had to photograph them again.
This is one of the sweetest, most genuine couple I have ever met and photographing them was a total joy.
This shoot was intended to spread some extra love + acceptance into the world and I am so grateful this couple was willing to help me do that.
