Jessica + Mitch | Washington, DC Wedding
about the session
The day has finally arrived! Jessica and Mitch’s wedding was absolutely beautiful, and I am so excited to share the images from their big day. You may recognize these lovebirds from their Washington, D.C., bridals that we took a few months ago. Here is a quick refresher: Jessica and Mitch were set up on a blind date by Jess’s mom. The hesitation they may have felt about a blind date quickly melted away when they saw each other and started talking. Jessica said that everything felt so natural with Mitch right from that first date. And as you can see, the rest is history.
It was so fun to meet the bridal party and get to know them. The bridesmaids were dressed in pinks, blushes, and salmon, while the groomsmen had floral ties to match. Jessica looked stunning in her gown and veil. The walk out of the temple doors is always one of my favorite parts. We got some great pictures of the newlyweds and their loved ones in front of the golden doors before moving on to the next part of the day. We took a few more portraits of Jessica and Mitch, but weren’t too worried about this given the fact that we had already taken bridals previously.
Scheduling your bridal portrait session before the actual wedding day can relieve so much stress. On the day of your wedding, you should be able to be in the moment and spend time with the friends and family who came to support you. Having to spend an hour or more taking your bridal portraits can be so stressful when you know that there is so much more to do and so many people waiting. When the bridals are done beforehand, we can focus on documenting the events of your wedding day. This usually consists of the ceremony (or the temple exit for LDS weddings), all of your guests, as well as smaller group portraits, the luncheon, and/or reception.
Mitch's and Jessica’s reception was a blast. They had a dance floor set up on the lawn for both romantic slow dances and the party moves to follow! I loved documenting Jessica and Mitch’s perfect wedding day in Washington, D.C., and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for them.
