This cute family is near and dear to my heart. I have been taking their family photos for several years now, and I love to see how their family has grown and changed from session to session! Little Henry was a baby during our first session together, and now he is the big brother. It is obvious how much he loves his baby sister. He had the sweetest smile on his face when he held her for a portrait of just the two of them.
The weather has been so beautiful that we could not pass up an outdoor session. We met up in a field of green grass with beautiful trees and tall grasses in the background. The golden hour sunlight at this time of year is absolutely stunning! The way it peeked through the greenery was magical. We took most of the portraits sitting on a blanket in the grass. Baby sister is so little that it was easier to show her off in some seated poses.
Mom wore a gorgeous poppy red dress that is so flattering on her. Dad and the baby were dressed in light blue, and Henry had a long-sleeved shirt with a pattern that tied in both colors beautifully. I love to see family outfits that are not exactly matching but cohesive. These images will look so nice printed and displayed on their walls at home.
One of the benefits of finding a family photographer that you enjoy working with early on is that your family photos will have a similar style throughout the years. The Ripptoes could take their favorite portraits from all of our sessions over the last few years and build a gallery wall in their home without having to worry about the photos looking good together. You can also ask your photographer to recreate a certain image or pose during every session. This is a fun way to see how much can change throughout the years. Another bonus is that your kids will feel more comfortable with a photographer that they have met and worked with before. This makes authentic smiles so much easier to come by.
I love working with this family and cannot wait to meet up with them again!
