about the session

Sara and Daniel have a really special story. Not everything went as planned for them, but they were still able to make it memorable. They are a darling couple, and I feel so lucky that I was able to play a little part in their love story!

Sara and Daniel are high school sweethearts. They went to school dances together, football games, and any other iconic high school event together. What you dream of the cutest high school relationship being like, that was them. After they both served missions for the LDS church, Daniel proposed and they began to plan a wedding. And then COVID happened. Every plan they’d been making for YEARS got flipped on it’s head. They had dreamed of the perfect first look that would take place before the wedding day, a morning temple sealing and a reception for all their family and friends that night. That was gone. With all the LDS temples closed, the two didn’t know what would happen on their planned wedding day. Miraculously, the temples reopened for sealings right before they were supposed to be married. They were able to be sealed as they’d planned! After about a month of blissful marriage, we were able to do their first look.

Even though these two had been married for a month, you’d have thought they were still engaged with how excited they were to see each other in their wedding attire. They’d been dreaming of this day since Prom and here it finally was. Daniel couldn’t stop giggling, and Sara was so excited to show him how gorgeous she looked. When Daniel finally turned and saw her, he cried. They laughed and hugged, cried and kissed, and were just so so happy to finally be at this moment. The whole session was laced with that happiness. Nothing could go wrong. They laughed, danced, and had the time of their life. I was just lucky enough to observe.

This session was so much fun, and you can really tell from these photos. Sara and Daniel are the greatest!

fast facts

Aspen Grove is a pretty popular photo spot, but if you’re there with an experienced photographer, they know how to chase the light and avoid the crowds.

Sara and Daniel got married right as all the COVID madness began, so all their plans changed at a moments notice. Their story is so sweet.

These fun clients decided to capture their first look after their wedding day! These photos were taken a month after they got married.

Aspen Grove is gorgeous year-round, but the bright summer colors are my favorite seasonal backdrop.

Sara and Daniel were dream clients! I loved working with them.
