Spring Family Pictures with the Peonies | Seneca State Park, Maryland
about the session
The West family is truly incredible - I really don’t know how I get the nicest clients, but these guys were so much fun to work with.
Chris and Laurin moved to Maryland fifteen years ago when Chris started at his dream job working Secret Services for the White House! Talk about a sweet gig, am I right?
When this young family moved, they had a three-month-old daughter and were working to build a new life in a new place. Their life now looks quite different - they’ve moved out of the small DC apartment into a house with more space and more kids who all love to laugh, play, draw on the walls, and duke it out on the gaming consoles.
The Wests are super adventurous - you can find them swimming, hiking, exploring, and partying hard during the Super Bowl season. They also know how to focus on the things that matter most: God, family, and a life filled with integrity!
During the actual shoot, I was so lucky to get to see more of their personalities come out to play. The kids are so smart and kind, and they work to genuinely connect with those around them. Vivianne, the youngest, uses her bright smile and chubby cheeks to run the show, but no one really seems to mind.
The sweetest part to witness was seeing how relaxed, fun, and sincere Chris and Laurin are when interacting with their kids. Those kids love their parents with their whole hearts! This whole family was an absolute pleasure to photograph!
Between the colors and textures of their outfits (especially Chris’s jacket!) and the dreamy Seneca State Park location, this session was unmatched.
In the springtime, Seneca State Park really shines with its peony garden that makes everything feel magical when you’re surrounded by those puffy blooms.
