Stephanie + Zach Springtime Mountain Engagement | Deer Creek Reservoir
about the session
I’ve been following Stephanie for a while on Instagram. She actually served her LDS church mission in my home ward and knew my parents really well. I’ve been a huge fan of hers since she started Project Black Girl, a photography project to give more representation of how beautiful black women can be in all their differences. So, you can imagine how honored (and a bit star-struck) I was when she asked me to do her engagement photo session.
Stephanie and Zach met after Zach slid into her DM’s. Classic! Stephanie thought he was more than likely a catfish because he was too good to be true! After texting and FaceTiming (proving he was real), they finally decided to meet up. They couldn’t get enough of each other and after a few weeks, Zach proposed.
These two are a total mood. Stephanie’s light combined with Zach’s cool makes them completely unstoppable. The two as a pair are infectious. You can’t help but want to be around them! They had just got engaged the day before so their freshly engaged glow was sooooo visible and made the time together so so fun.
Stephanie is the kind of person who talks to you like you’re the most important person in the world. She makes you feel like you matter and you feel better after being around her. Zach is incredibly kind and patient. He has this steadiness to him that’s so calming. Stephanie kept saying “we’re getting married!” and “I can’t believe this!” over and over through the session.
This shoot took place in a gorgeous field in Midway, which was absolute perfection. With the view of Deer Creek Reservoir and the mountains in our background, it was absolutely a dream come true. In the fall, you know the leaves on the mountain are going to be stunning, but having it so green from the spring run-off was just perfect.
I can't wait to see what is in store for this couple, because I know whatever it is, it is going to be amazing.
