There are some homes where you walk in and you instantly know what kind of people live there. When you enter the Schutz home, you can feel it’s a place where love is cultivated and friendships are strengthened. I had the privilege of entering the Schutz home for a newborn shoot and I am so happy I did!
Meet Edie, Alex, and baby Connor. Edie and Alex have known each other forever. They’ve been in the same friend group since high school, and even college in different states couldn’t ruin their connection as the two were married a few years after graduation. It’s rare to keep a high school relationship going strong, but to keep your whole group of friends close and integrated into each other’s lives? That should testify to the kind of people the Schutz’s are.
After minutes of being around Edie, I felt like she was one of my sorority sisters from college. I felt like we’d spent countless late nights eating junk food and talking about our lives, which is the best way to truly connect girl to girl. I felt like I’d known her forever and I am so happy we met!
Edie and Alex are incredibly kind and gentle parents. Having a pregnancy and bringing home a baby during Covid-19 is definitely not how any mom imagines her journey into motherhood. But the Schutz family took it not only in stride but saw each moment as a blessing. Now, they cherish their time with Connor and look forward to introducing him to countless friends and family who’ve been waiting to meet him.
Edie and Alex bought their fixer-upper in Bethesda, Maryland a couple of years ago and all their hard work was well worth the effort and time. Their vision created a beautiful home and their goodness fills it with warmth. It’s incredibly welcoming, calm, and so full of light.
