The Brooksby Family | Springtime at Squaw Peak for Family Photos
about the session
Say hello to the Brooksby family! They are the sweetest people and some of my dearest friends.
I have had the privilege of knowing the Brookby family for years. Erin has become one of my dearest friends and because of our friendship, I have been so blessed to watch the Brooksby children grow up and being there to cheer them on through all their twists and turns. I have also been able to take their senior pictures and several of their family pictures.
The Brookby family session was shot at Squaw Peak up the Provo Canyon. Squaw Peak is a beautiful location with a green grass meadow in the summer and wildflower blooms in the spring. No matter what season you are photographing in, Squaw Peak has some beautiful views.
The meadow up Squaw Peak is a little tricky to get to because the dirt road leading to it is pretty bumpy and dusty. I have never done mini sessions up in that area because of this reason. The Brooksby's were so patient and understanding and didn't give up when the road to the shoot was less than ideal.
After being in Maryland for the past year it was so refreshing to be around friends. We were able to laugh and have a good time together as we caught up. The Brooksby family chose the perfect light blue color for their outfits. The color and cute attire created a perfectly balanced palette against the green in the mountains.
One thing that made this session special with the Brooksby's is that soon their daughter will be leaving to serve a mission for eighteen months. The family really wanted to commemorate this sweet time before Emily left for Colorado.
Needless to say, this session is just what I needed! I was able to spend time with a family so close to my heart, doing what I love and enjoying nature! Love you Brooksby's, and best of luck Emily!
