The Broud Family | Fall Family Photos in Alpine, Utah
about the session
I’ll be honest here: Lindsey and Adam are two of the realist people I know. Sometimes I’ll meet clients that make me feel like we’ve been friends since 5th grade, and The Brouds are no exception. They’re like the kind of friends that have seen you in your awkward phase, encouraged you through bad haircuts and braces, and are still here cheering you on into adulthood. I’m telling you, Lindsey and Adam are rare gems. I also admired and appreciated that they were so honest and open about their struggles. They genuinely want to help other people know they’re not alone in their trials. I loved getting to know them and becoming their friend!
We took the Broud’s family photos at Lambert Park, in Alpine Utah. I usually gravitate towards this location more in the springtime, so I didn’t even think about it as an option for this session. But when a fire in Provo Canyon forced us to relocate, Lambert Park proved to be a gorgeous place in the fall as well. The leaves were still so beautiful and colorful. I couldn’t have asked for more!
This session actually ended up being pretty unique (in the best way). Little Asher had fallen asleep in the car on the way to the shoot and was NOT happy about being woken up. Bless his heart, he just wanted to fall back asleep. We took a few loving photos of REAL parenthood, but when it became more clear that Asher needed time, I offered to squeeze them in after my next session if they were willing to hang out for 20 minutes. I’m so glad they did! Asher woke up and was the happiest boy. We even had the best light! What I love most about their photos is that we were able to capture the spectrum of parenthood. It’s not always happy but even in those down times, there’s still so much beauty and love. Every day as a parent is magical...even if it doesn’t always feel like it.
fast facts
Lambert Park is a gorgeous location during any time of year. I typically go there for spring shoots, but it’s a new favorite for fall!
Can you even handle their little Asher’s hair?! Those blonde curls are darling!
This session captured so many real and raw moments of parenthood. Asher was not having it at first, and even though that’s not ideal for family photos, we were able to capture some really special moments.
The details are what made this session! From Lindsey’s necklace to Asher’s little button up, it was just picture perfect.
