The Hansen Family | An Autumn Family Session at Lambert Park

Everyone, meet Curtis, Melissa and their two littles, Griffin and Owen! After getting to know them, I can safely say that Curtis and Melissa are all-stars.
Melissa and I had been planning for these family photos for literal months before the actual date. We communicated pretty frequently and everything was going perfectly… Until a wildfire started in the Provo Canyon. Twenty minutes before family pictures were scheduled, this fire completely blocked off our access to the location. I was able to quickly find a new location and let the Hansen’s know about the change. Little did I know, this amazing couple had to drive 40 minutes out of their way to the new location. And they did it all with a smile! I was seriously so impressed.
The location we ended up at was Lambert Park in Alpine, Utah. Lambert Park is quickly becoming an Old Reliable situation for me. I found it this last spring when I was checking on the Alpine poppies for a shoot and was stunned by it’s gorgeous yellow blooms. Little did I know it would be a perfect year round location that’s easy to find, doesn’t require hiking, or the loss of cell service. It’s not crowded with photographers which is rare with perfect spots like these. It’s definitely a spot to know!
I feel so grateful for clients like Curtis and Melissa. Not only are they wonderful people, but they make my job so easy. Melissa was actually referred to me by her friend, a previous client! When Melissa reached out to me for pictures, I hadn’t planned on being in Utah. But when I feel like a client trusts me that much, I want to show up for them. So I pulled out all the stops and spent a weekend in Utah with my clients. Also, how could I not get a few shots of those darling twins?! The Hansen’s are the most adorable little family, and I’m so glad I got to know them.
