This totally adorable family is the Day family. Emily is the mom, Michael is the dad, and their adorable little guy is Cy. Together they make the sweetest little trio and they are one of the happiest families I've ever photographed!
If there’s one thing that’s absolutely clear about the Days, it’s that they are obsessed with their little boy. They absolutely adore him, and the feeling is totally mutual. Cy loves his parents so much! We had such a great time chasing after him as he explored the beautiful Barker Park and picked countless flowers.
The Day family came early to their session and had a family picnic in the park. I not only loved that they took the opportunity to have special family time before their session, but I also loved that it helped Cy feel calm, happy, and fed--which all made for good spirits during the shoot. Emily and Michael were so great at just letting Cy be Cy and because of that, we were able to get so many genuine and pretty photos!
It's always a great idea to get to a photo session early so you don't feel rushed or frazzled upon arrival. Also, if you plan on everyone being fed that helps ensure everyone is ready to laugh and smile nice and big. Both of these things will help relieve any stress family pictures can cause and will help set the perfect tone for our session.
We took these beautiful photos at Baker Park in Frederick, Maryland. Baker Park is a popular photo location and can’t you totally see why? It’s easy to get to so its convenient accessibility makes it a great location when you are bringing kids along. It also has the most beautiful scenery and offers the most beautiful blooms that Washington DC is famous for!
