The Hansen Family | Sunny Family Photos in the Canyon

I had the pleasure of working with the Hansen family last fall when I did their family photos and I could not believe how much these little twins have grown! It is so fun getting to work with return clients and seeing how they have changed. Griffin and Owen had zero interest in sitting still, but I really can’t blame them as we were out in nature and it is no surprise that these toddlers just wanted to explore. So for this session we focused on getting a lot of candid and genuine interaction photos. What stood out to me the most is how capable Melissa and Curtis are. I know parenting isn’t easy for anyone, but these two have beautifully stepped into their roles as twin parents, and you can see that in the precious moments captured on camera.
There are so many amazing locations for family photos in Utah County. I love being a Utah based photographer because I have access to some of the most amazing scenery in the country. The gorgeous setting for these family photos was a forested area right above my favorite valley location on Squaw Peak which is located between Provo and Orem. It has the prettiest blue blooms in late Spring and you can’t beat the quaking aspen trees in this area. They are just so perfect for photos!
The Hansen family did a great job picking their outfits for this session. It can be overwhelming figuring out what to wear for family photos! The coordinating blues and whites worked so well with the green in the trees. I loved the boys matching button ups! Everyone looked great.
Even though these little guys were not always interested in taking photos, Melissa and Curtis did an amazing job at wrangling the boys and trying to work with them! But when they were just not having it, we focused on what they could give, and most of the time that makes for a hilarious or sweet memory. I know that it can be stressful to take pictures when the kids aren’t having it, but as your photographer I will always make the most of the session, no matter what!
