Zoe & Chris | Fall Golden Light Couples Session

Meet Zoe and Chris! I was so excited when they reached out to me to take their Holiday Card pictures this year. After chatting about their perfect vision for the shoot we settled on meeting at the Red Rock Wilderness Park in Leesburg, Virginia.

This location at this time of year is a photography hot spot, and I'm sure it’s easy to see why! In addition to the natural beauty, there are a number of really cool farm buildings from the 1800s that are such a cool backdrop for photos. I tend to let the light guide where I shoot during a session, and on this particular day, the light led us into a forested bit on the property. The light was perfect and the changing leaves were such a beautiful autumnal setting.

Zoe and Chris are a lovely couple and we had so much fun together during our session! They are from Montana and met working at a Best Buy. She was selling computers, he worked in the Apple section, and they completely hit it off! Zoe told me neither of them believed in love at first sight until they met each other -- are you kidding me with that cuteness? They’ve been together now for about 2 years and their love for each other just keeps growing.

These two are such a good balance for one another. Zoe wasn’t as instantly comfortable in front of the camera as Chris was, but he was so kind and by the end of our time together they were both posing like total pros! We all laughed and chatted as we walked around the woods and it was easy to see just how much these two love each other. Chris makes Zoe feel so comfortable and vice versa. It’s always so fun to see couples really bring out the best in each other.

Zoe and Chris are both very family-oriented, which has made their move here to Virginia a little tough. Their families are still back in Montana, but they are excited to make a new start here on the East Coast. Zoe said she knew he was the one for her when he was willing to move so far across the country just for her. Swoon! Love is really the best.

I’m so glad this cute couple trusted me to capture these special photos for them! It’s always such a treat for me to meet a young couple in love who are just so excited to be with each other. It makes my job as a photographer even more fun when the clients are so easy-going and fun!
