Baby Judy Joins the Klein Family | Kensington, MD
a cozy in-home session
I’ve had the privilege of taking lots of newborn sessions lately, and it has been such a fun change of pace! The Klein family is so awesome and easy to be around. I took their family photos back in 2021 when it was only Kara, Dan, and Teddy. Teddy, now a toddler, was just a little guy back then! I loved reconnecting with them during this special time in their lives–– return clients just make my heart so happy.
We got together in the Kleins home in Kensington to document the arrival of their new baby Judy. She is just the absolute sweetest little bean. Isn’t her swaddle the cutest? We took the Klein family photos in Judy’s nursery, which had several meaningful additions by family members. The floral mural on the wall was painted by one of Dan’s sisters, and the framed watercolor prints were painted by baby Judy’s grandma.
We were able to get some really adorable photos of Judy and her parents, and when her older brother Teddy warmed up to me, we got some fun shots with him as well! He was pretty busy the whole shoot and wasn’t a huge fan of sitting still, but Dan and Kara were amazing at just rolling with it. Toddler parents deserve all the credit!! I’ve worked with lots of little kids over the years, and I’ve found that it’s best when you don’t put too much pressure on them. By the end, we were able to get some really playful and genuine photos of Teddy and Judy because we didn’t put too much pressure on him. It was a win-win!
Traveling to Kensington was absolutely so worth it for this adorable little family. Kara mentioned to me how much she had been looking forward to cozy newborn snuggles, so I know they are busy soaking it all in! I’m so happy I was able to preserve a few of those special family moments for them.
