I’ve been following Stephanie for a while on Instagram. She actually served her LDS church mission in my home ward and knew my parents really well. I’ve been a huge fan of hers since she started Project Black Girl, a photography project to give more representation of how beautiful black women can be in all their differences. So, you can imagine how honored (and a bit star-struck) I was when she asked me to do her engagement photo session.
Read MoreThere are some homes where you walk in and you instantly know what kind of people live there. When you enter the Schutz home, you can feel it’s a place where love is cultivated and friendships are strengthened. I had the privilege of entering the Schutz home for a newborn shoot and I am so happy I did!
Meet Edie, Alex, and baby Connor. Edie and Alex have known each other forever. They’ve been in the same friend group since high school, and even college in different states couldn’t ruin their connection as the two were married a few years after graduation. It’s rare to keep a high school relationship going strong, but to keep your whole group of friends close and integrated into each other’s lives? That should testify to the kind of people the Schutz’s are.
Read MoreDoes this beautiful family l look familiar? Well, they should, because I already did an amazing photoshoot with them here. During this second photoshoot, however, it was just the sweet mama + her babes in gorgeous cherry blossoms and it was absolutely stunning!
I was so excited to get to photograph Jalil, Sanaa, and Simone again. They are the sweetest family and they photograph beautifully. In general, I just love working with past clients. We already are familiar with each other so I know what they need from me as their photographer and they already have confidence in knowing what an amazing job I will do them.
Read MoreThis totally adorable family is the Day family. Emily is the mom, Michael is the dad, and their adorable little guy is Cy. Together they make the sweetest little trio and they are one of the happiest families I've ever photographed! If there’s one thing that’s absolutely clear about the Days, it’s that they are obsessed with their little boy. They absolutely adore him, and the feeling is totally mutual. Cy loves his parents so much! We had such a great time chasing after him as he explored the beautiful Barker Park and picked countless flowers.
Read MoreOh the joy of getting to meet and enjoy new relationships in my new state! I cannot wait to tell you about the incredible humans that are the Salgado family. By the end of our shoot, I wanted to be real-life friends with them — they are so friendly and kind! This shoot was so fun for me because they were so relaxed about walking around and waiting for crowds to thin out so we could get the perfect shot.
Read MoreAren’t these photos of the Kane family just so adorable? And the Maryland cherry blossoms showed up pretty beautifully too. Madeline and Koa met at BYU-Idaho Madeline’s second year. They’d connected over their love of Maryland. Koa had served an LDS mission in Baltimore and knew Madeline was from that area. While they’d never talked while he was serving, they clicked quickly and were soon married.

There is something so special about two people who’ve been in love for 65 years (!!!). Rex and Judy got engaged when Judy was only 14 years old and they got married when she was 16.

Read MoreI am so excited to introduce you to the Gillespie family. I met Thomas and Kaylee in the Fall of 2019 as Thomas started the MBA program at BYU where my husband was finishing his second year. I was president of the Spouse’s Association which gave me the opportunity to get to know Kaylee pretty well, and I am so glad we did because I was then able to be there for her during this extra sweet maternity session.
Read MoreSay hi to Emily! We had planned to do this graduation photoshoot, but when COVID hit, we didn’t know how we’d be able to make Emily’s pictures happen. We decided to venture out into the world together and were able to laugh, catch up, talk about future plans, and get some adorable pictures that really showcased her fire and spunk. Emily brought her older sister along to help with her outfit changes and we seriously had the best time. A perk of going out during quarantine was that the shopping center was practically empty.
Read MoreThis shoot took place on one of my favorite and most beautiful parts of the Provo River trail. It is right by Utah Lake and it is perfect for those fall colors. With the golden sun and those yellow leaves, it is *chef’s kiss* perfection. There is nothing more beautiful than Utah's changing fall colors, though, I am finding as a newly located photographer in Maryland, it is just as incredible here!
The Harris family showed up smiling, laughing, and ready to roll. We all had so much fun walking around, trying different games, and making each other laugh. Our time together flew by and we got so many great photos of them!

So to help build that trust between my clients and myself, here are three quick things to know about me before our shoot.
Read MoreSay hello to Adama and Pablo.
I’d initially reached out to them to model for me so I could use their photos in my Client Style Guide. But as the summer of 2020 became more and more socially intense, I wanted to somehow do what I could within my own sphere to encourage racial equity.
So what could I do? I felt like I could show more couples and families of diverse racial backgrounds laughing, loving, and putting in all they could to have a happy and successful family. What better people to have as an example of that than Adama and Pablo?

He and his wife Megan live in Georgia, where they moved soon after they were married. They have three beautiful children, my niece and nephews, Jeffrey, Sam, and Ellie. It is really fun because Brian and I have had our kids within months of each other, so our kids have cousins the same age. The shoot took place in downtown Alpharetta. This downtown area is so charming and has tons of locations that are perfect for family photos. City Hall has gorgeous grounds, beautiful architecture, and works well at any time of day. It was the ideal location for this family photo shoot.
