The Klein Family | Fall Photos at Gambrill Mill

Meet the Klein family! I met Kara, Dan, and Teddy on an overcast day at Gambrill Mill in Urbana, Maryland. This is one of my favorite Frederick area locations to meet for a session because it gives a variety of natural beauty in one easy-to-find space. During my time with the Klein family, we stuck to the field at the end of the boardwalk, which was perfect! We shot after a few days of rain that made the riverbank a little too slick, but this golden field definitely fit the fall vibes they were looking for.

Get Your Brain Back with these Business Tools

There are a lot of people out there who want to tell you how to run your business. They literally want to put their business in your business.

When I first started out, I didn’t know who to trust when everyone was saying they were the game changing key for business owners.

I literally lost thousands of dollars “investing” in programs, systems, people, and sites that promised big gains for me when the reality was it was big gains for them. Meanwhile, I was left with less than I started.

After years of trial, error, growth, and regret I’ve come to trust a few systems and genuinely see them as vital to my business. All of these places will be linked with my referral code if I have one. I’m all about that discount so you better believe I’ll hook you up when I can!

The Crichton Family | Golden Fall at Red Rock Wilderness Park

Meet the Crichton family! We met up at the Red Rock Wilderness Park in Leesburg, Virginia. I have to be honest, I had NO idea how popular this park was until I arrived and saw at least four other photographers there leading their clients around. It’s never a bad thing to stumble into a photography hot-spot, but it definitely makes the task of finding a spot without other groups a little more challenging.

Sarah and Ian met on a double date involving pizza and McFlurrie’s, so I had a hunch they would be super fun to work with! When I asked about their relationship, the word that kept coming up was “natural,” and I have to agree. Sarah and Ian were so natural together. They just fit. It was a delight to photograph their big day!

The Hansen Family | Sunny Family Photos in the Canyon

I had the pleasure of working with the Hansen family last fall when I did their family photos and I could not believe how much these little twins have grown! It is so fun getting to work with return clients and seeing how they have changed. Griffin and Owen had zero interest in sitting still, but I really can’t blame them as we were out in nature and it is no surprise that these toddlers just wanted to explore. So for this session we focused on getting a lot of moments of genuine interaction.

Aren’t the Hubbards just the cutest? I loved taking their anniversary photos at Deer Creek Reservoir in Midway, Utah. She says Matthew is known as a bike enthusiast, he’s the favorite fun uncle, still loves his Super Nintendo, and is always planning the next adventure.

Spring Mountain Family Photos | Squaw Peak Field

Cydne and Brayden are one of those love stories you hear about as a teen and dream of having as your own. They were high school sweethearts, both took time away from school to serve missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and were married soon after returning home. They both went on to get upper-level degrees and became very successful in their careers. Can you say power couple? Because they totally are.

Spring Family Pictures with the Peonies | Seneca State Park, Maryland

The West family is truly incredible - I really don’t know how I get the nicest clients, but these guys were so much fun to work with. Chris and Laurin moved to Maryland fifteen years ago when Chris started at his dream job working Secret Services for the White House! Talk about a sweet gig, am I right? When this young family moved, they had a three-month-old daughter and were working to build a new life in a new place.

The Brooksby Family | Springtime at Squaw Peak for Family Photos

One thing that made this session special with the Brooksby's is that soon their daughter will be leaving to serve a mission for eighteen months. The family really wanted to commemorate this sweet time before Emily left for Colorado.

The Ripptoe Family | Family Pictures in the Peonies at Seneca State Park

Family pictures at Seneca State Park in Maryland during the Peonie Blossoms? Um...... YES! Need I say more.

Seneca State Park is an incredible location with a beautiful wild peony garden. The blooms are only in blossom in the first couple weeks of May but they are so worth photographing in. This location is so convenient with parking right across from the peonies. It is easy to find and a short distance away from the perfect shooting location, which makes it the perfect place for a family photo session.
